Child/Teen Counseling

Stephanie Santos-Tuano is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the State of New Jersey as well as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Psychiatric Rehabilitation from Kean University. She obtained her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Rutgers University.  She has seven years of experience working in the field of mental health in various settings including providing outreach, early intervention, partial care, and outpatient services. Stephanie holds four years of counseling experiencing working with children, adolescents, adults, groups, families, and persons living with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or substance use disorders. As a counselor, she utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach, blending techniques from complementary counseling theories, to provide an individualized counseling experience tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

Alessandra Ducasse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University. Alessandra has worked with individuals suffering with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, and substance abuse. Alessandra utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to aid her clients in working towards achieving their treatment goals.

Within her role as a mental health professional, Alessandra focuses on the needs of the client and creates a therapeutic environment built on a foundation of acceptance and understanding.

Donna DeCotiis is a licensed associate counselor and board certified dance/movement therapist. She received her masters degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago in 2016. Donna has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families within both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Donna’s work incorporates mindfulness techniques to increase awareness of negative thoughts and their connection to physical symptoms. She offers empathy and compassion, while utilizing an eclectic approach to determine the most suitable interventions. Her interests include anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, self-compassion, and self-esteem.

Lynne Stoll is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Lynne earned her Master of Arts in Psychology at Georgian Court University. She specializes in counseling children and families for the past 16 years. Lynne has been dedicated to working with clients who have dealt with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, difficulties in relationships, self-esteem issues, anger issues, grief and loss issues, trauma, and addictions. Lynne believes in allowing the clients’ needs to dictate which therapeutic intervention is utilized. Lynne has provided skill building, cognitive therapeutic interventions, psycho-dynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. Lynne also provides a safe environment for clients to be able to work on underlying issues and to find a way to work towards their goals.

Lindsay Scholz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of New Jersey. She additionally holds national credentials within her field including Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as nationally Board-Certified TeleMental Health (BC-TMH) practitioner. Ms. Scholz obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from Monmouth University and has worked in the field of mental health since 2010. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. Ms. Scholz has extensive experience working with children 12-years and up as well as with adults, couples, and families in a wide variety of settings including via TeleHealth. Ms. Scholz has been with GenPsych since 2018.

Elizabeth Maslowska is a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and holds a license in the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She graduated from Caldwell University with a Master’s in Counseling w/ mental health counseling/art therapy specialization. She has 3 years experience in the field working in partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and general outpatient with youth, adolescents, and adult clients. Elizabeth has experience in treating clients with depression, anxiety/panic disorder, mood and personality disorders, interpersonal problems, self-esteem, PTSD, and trauma. She uses a client centered approach and incorporates CBT, DBT, and the creative arts in therapy. Elizabeth focuses on empowering clients and helping clients to identify and change destructive thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior and emotions. Her supportive and thoughtful approach to psychotherapy is pivotal in obtaining change, resiliency, improved mood, and enhanced relationships with self and others.

Ashley Moretto is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Associate Counselor and is recognized as a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is also licensed as a Registered Art Therapist. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Art Therapy from Caldwell University and her Bachelors in Art Therapy from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Ashley has worked with various populations such as adults, adolescents, and children in different levels of care. Using creative modalities and evidence based practices, Ashley’s therapy utilizes a person-centered approach with interventions tailored to the unique needs of the individual.

Jessica Plonchak is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Jessica earned her Master of Social Work Degree from New York University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in residential, partial hospitalization, IOP, outpatient and correctional facility settings. Jessica has worked in the field of mental health since 2007 providing individual, family and group therapy. She utilizes motivational interviewing and evidenced based treatment modalities including CBT and DBT. She is compassionate and dedicated to individuals with a variety of mental and emotional disorders as well as those affected by chemical addiction.

Dr. Adisa Alghali is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a recognized Nationally Certified Counselor.  Dr. Alghali earned her Doctorate in Education at Argosy University, her Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. She holds 12 years of experience in the field. Dr. Alghali is a Counseling Psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy.  By engaging in a warm therapeutic relationship, she helps her clients to better understand their life situations, develop their unique strengths, and move towards living a more emotionally fulfilling and satisfying life. She offers short-term, focused treatment and more long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy. Dr. Alghali works collaboratively with clients of all ages to help them feel understood, supported and appreciated throughout the therapeutic process.

Samantha Pinkham is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Social Worker.  Samantha earned her Master of Arts in Social Work from Monmouth University in 2018.  Samantha has been with GenPsych for 2.5 years.  Samantha is a passionate licensed social worker who specializes in working with adolescents/ teens, young adults, and families who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, behavioral issues, self-harm, grief and loss, family conflict, low self-esteem, academic pressures and other forms of maladaptive coping. Samantha’s therapy focuses on a strengths-based approach within a supportive and safe environment using therapeutic strategies and interventions tailored to each individual needs and goals.

Mini Sharma is a licensed by the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Mini is a graduate of Monmouth University where she received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Mini has experience providing counseling to children, adults, and families. Mini has worked with diverse populations with varying needs, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and family conflict. She has experience working with adolescents and adults in partial hospitalization, IOP, and outpatient settings. She also has training in several modalities, including CBT, DBT, and certification in the Nurtured Heart Approach.  Mini is currently the Program Director of the GenPsych Adolescent Program (GAP) at our Livingston location.

Alanna D’Avanzo earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and holds NJ State Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor. Alanna also is a National Certified Counselor and Board-Certified Life and Career Coach. She is a proud graduate of Rider University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with distinction. Alanna’s specializations for counseling include pediatrics, adolescents/teens, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, social skills, and counseling culturally diverse populations, including the Arab-American community, where she has conducted extensive research to better serve this population’s mental health needs.  Alanna’s counseling philosophy focuses on supporting a client wherever they are at in their lives and connecting with clients in an age appropriate way. Alanna feels everyone possesses the power to find meaning in life experiences and take the control of their future. Alanna’s extensive fieldwork has included working with youth, teens, and adolescents in a partial hospitalization, working at a social skills development center serving those with a variety of developmental disabilities, and conducting intensive in-home therapy with ages 4-21.

Sarah Nitka is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Sarah completed her undergraduate degree from Drew University and graduate degree from Monmouth University. Sarah specializes in treating children and adolescents. Sarah possesses experience in substance use related disorders such as withdrawal management.

Sarah carries to GenPsych her previous experience treating adolescent, substance abuse and developmentally disabled populations.

Malgorzata Stachura is licensed by the State of New Jersey of as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Master’s degree from Jagiellonian University in Poland. Malgorzata holds certifications from HRET’s Interpreter Training Program for Bilingual Staff in Healthcare, introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy: adults and adolescents, foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the Nurtured Heart Approach, and training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy II. She has worked with GenPsych for 3.5 years. Malgorzata’s counseling philosophy focuses on validating client’s problems and aiding with self-discovery. She has extensive knowledge in dialectical behavioral therapy as well as the nurtured heart approach. Malgorzata’s is bilingual and speaks fluent polish.
